Thomas Eek (pronounced "Ehk") has been the Head Tennis Pro at Myers Park Country Club since 1997. He was born in Oslo Norway and moved to the U.S. to play tennis for The University of Alabama on a full scholarship. Thomas is a former Norweigan Champion and Collegiate All-American and still competes on a national level today, having won the North Carolina State Championship in 2002 and Carolina Cup in 2005 as captain of the team.
Thomas is a charismatic, kind-hearted, patient teacher to tennis students of all ages, starting with ages 3-4, including several free clinics. He is an active supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Susan G. Komen foundation and will often donate his time and free lessons for the benefit of these and other charities.
Thomas and his wife Kelly are the proud parents of two young boys (and future tennis stars) Anders and Kristian.
